The all-electric F-150 Lightning pickup has received a number of tweaks from the manufacturer and transformed into the Lightning Pro SSV that you see here, meaning ‘Special Service Vehicle’.
Ford offers the truck to law enforcement agencies with a larger battery pack and a higher power output – 580 American horsepower (588 British hp, or 432 international kilowatts). This lets it sprint 0-60 mph (0-97 km/h) in four seconds flat, nearly a full-second improvement over stock.
Other notable enhancements include redesigned front and rear seats padded with steel for protection, vinyl flooring instead of mats and a revised dashboard. As usual, the body is wrapped in a police car livery, there are flashing lights and other signature police car traits.
Like its standard counterpart, the truck can use a special on-board charger to supply power to other EVs and external appliances.
