To commemorate Carroll Shelby, the famous engineer and founder of Shelby American who would have turned 100 years old this year, the automobile company has announced its most extreme version of the Ford F-150 to date. Dubbed Carroll Shelby Centennial Edition, it will be released in a series of 100 units priced from $127,995.
The base car is a Super Snake spec armed with a five-liter V8 producing 400 American horsepower (298 kilowatts). With an optional supercharger strapped on, the power goes up to 800 hp (596 kW). Even the range-topping F-150 Raptor R falls 100 hp (75 kW) behind this version.
Unlike the Raptor, though, the Carroll Shelby Centennial Edition is designed for well-paved roads. It has lowered suspension, an aero kit, special wheels and pinstripes to differentiate itself from the crowd.
A peek inside the cabin reveals black leather seats adorned with Shelby badges, carbon fiber accents all around, new floor mats and red ambient lighting.
