Loki, a manufacturer of camper add-ons for American trucks, has unveiled the Expedition Icarus 6. The novelty is slated to arrive in late summer and will fit trucks with an 8-foot (2.4-meter) bed, like the Ford F-250 shown here.
The display car is a 2022MY Lariat model propelled by a powerful 6.7-liter diesel V8. The camper itself is relatively lightweight and easy to install, Loki says, but it still necessitates some preparations. Among other things, you are going to need Fox Racing shocks, special air-ride springs and heavy-duty stabilizers to support the weight.
A peek inside the living area reveals a kitchenette, a tiny dining room and a bedroom with retractable beds and heated floors. All-around heat insulation means you can use the camper throughout most of the year, and the company provides an autonomous heater for those who need it. Other options include a 300Ah battery and a 270-degree awning.
