Ford Fiesta 3-Door Hatchback says farewell to Europe

The reality is such that customers in Europe prefer SUVs and crossovers to small-engine hatchbacks, so the writing is on the wall for the three-door Ford Fiesta.

A representative of the German office of Ford confirmed that the company planned to stop production in mid-summer 2022. The five-door ST version will allegedly continue to be made for a while longer, although its future is anything but clear.

Despite receiving a mid-generational refresh not long ago, the Fiesta saw its sales plummet to the rock bottom in the first two months of 2022. Ford managed to move 19,844 units in Europe in January–February 2021, but only 7,608 units in the same period next year. Ongoing supply chain disruptions aggravate matters even further, forcing manufacturers to focus on what’s profitable.

The 2022 Ford Fiesta hatchback received LED Matrix headlights and a slightly larger front grille with more prominent air vents. Other than that, it has stayed more or less the same.
