Mountune launches sequential gear kit for the 2nd-gen Ford Focus

Mountune, a British company specializing in production of aftermarket car parts, has launched the Quaife sequential gear kit for the second generation of the Ford Focus. The firm claims the upgrade makes shifting “lightning-fast”.

The QKE45Z kit is meant to be installed as an upgrade for the M66 transmission. It leaves a number of original components in their stock state, including the bellhousing, the clutch, and the driveshafts.

Fast shifting is effected by means of a specially designed drum-shaped mechanism, while five wider-than-stock gears provide the necessary reliability and wear resistance.

According to Mountune, you could install the same upgrade on Volvo cars with the same transmission type. The C30, S40, V50, S60, C70, and V70 should all be compatible. That said, you will need to make certain adjustments first to ensure that all parts work properly with your Volvo vehicle.
