Mountune has revealed an extreme tuning program for the Ford Focus RS. In its stock guise, the hot hatch has a 2.3-liter turbocharged V4 engine with 350 hp (261 kW) at the crank.
Mountune has launched two different tuning kits for the model. Both swap the standard turbocharger out for a BorgWarner EFR Series one. The m450 kit helps the hatchback to 450 hp (336 kW) and 580 Nm (428 pound-feet) of torque, whereas the m520 MRX package brings along 520 hp (388 kW) and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft). Aside from the turbo add-on, both include new camshafts, fuel systems, injection components etc.
Acceleration times remain unannounced. The m450 version of the upgrade costs £3000, while the m520 is almost twice as expensive.
The next-gen Ford Focus RS should emerge in about two years packing a 400-hp (300-kW) engine in the most basic version.
