New 2020 Ford Focus RS revealed in greater detail

The North American car manufacturer Ford just announced that it would issue the next – and last – generation of the Focus RS hatchback model in 2020. The car is likely to be released with a potent hybrid engine under the hood.

This last instalment in the Ford Focus RS series should get the same V4 turbo engine with 2.3 liters of displacement room as the one used in the current model – albeit improved. It is going to work together with a starter-generator and a 48V power circuit. Their cumulative output is estimated at 400 hp (300 kW) and 576 Nm (425 lb·ft) of torque.

If Ford stays true to these specifications, the new Focus RS hatchback will be a worthy rival of the Mercedes-AMG A45 in its market niche.
