Those in the market for a high-end Ford Focus are more likely to consider the maxed-out RS+ version than the ST, but the latter still has plenty of kick for the money. And if you can afford to have it tuned, you can expect up to 380 PS (375 hp / 279 kW).
The third generation of the Focus ST (see video) normally churns out a healthy 250 horsepower (246 hp / 183 kW). German tuner TurboZentrum takes it and modifies the turbocharger housing using a CNC machine. It also replaces the compressor wheel with a larger one and swaps out the backplate and the bearings for more robust counterparts.
As a result, the output rises up to the 380 PS mentioned above. The company says it will even upgrade used cars, but the efficiency will vary depending on the condition of the turbocharger assembly.
