Ford teases the gold-bodied GT Holman Moody Heritage Edition

The Ford GT Holman Moody Heritage Edition is slated to become the next entry in the retro-themed series of supercars celebrating the past victories of the GT. The images show fragments of a gold-colored car body with red accents. We will learn more when the model debuts later this spring.

The racing livery of the Holman-Moody team apparently inspires the red-and-gold color scheme. The racing team also participated in building a GT40 with a seven-liter V8, along with Shelby American.

Holman-Moody drove three GT40 racers at the 1966 24 Hours of Le Mans endurance race. One of them came 3rd, while the other two winning places were also claimed by Ford cars.

Rumors circulated back in 2021 that Ford was developing a particularly hot GT supercar to wave the current generation goodbye. There were even spy photos suggesting that such a supercar was indeed under development. However, there has been no official confirmation of these rumors so far.
