16-year-old, delivery-mileage Ford GT can be yours for $0.7M

If you happen to have a spare $680,000 lying around being useless in this economy, consider grabbing a 2006 Ford GT on sale in Ohio with just 80 km (50 miles) on the odometer.

Ford produced the car in the final production year of that generation (see video). The next generation came out 11 years later and is set to retire later in 2022. Both generations are strictly limited in terms of production units and thus deemed particularly valuable among collectors.

The example on sale wears a red livery with white stripes resembling that of the original Ford GT40, which actually inspired the whole GT series. The interior combines classical and modern design cues. There is no infotainment system, but a McIntosh speaker set should keep the driver entertained in any case.

Power is supplied by a 5.4-liter supercharged V8 mounted in the back and rated at 550 PS (542 hp / 404 kW). A six-speed manual gearbox directs the torque to the rear axle, letting the supercar sprint in 3.8 seconds and max out at 330 km/h (205 mph).
