The final edition of Mk2 Ford GT heading to NYIAS

Did you know Ford produced as many as eight Heritage Editions of its GT supercar since its debut? Well, the ninth and final one (for this generation, at least) is set to debut at the New York International Auto Show in a couple of days.

Like its predecessors, the Holman Moody Heritage Edition celebrates the victory of Ford over Ferrari at the 1966 Le Mans race. Back in that distant year, the Blue Oval managed to claim the entire pedestal, with the Holman & Moody racing team taking third place. The team then contributed much to the creation of another award-winning racer, the GT40 Mk II.

The car sports a livery of red and gold with a number 5 on it referencing the original Holman & Moody prototype. It also makes intensive use of carbon fiber, gloss black calipers and 20-inch wheels. The interior comes wrapped in leather and Alcantara with some golden accents for contrast.

Stay tuned for a full NYIAS premiere of the last GT we will be seeing in a while.
