Following a couple of teaser pics showing the last special edition of the Ford GT – the Holman Moody Heritage – the company has completely revealed the car at the NYIAS expo, exhibiting it next to a 56-year-old GT40 Mk II.
The one thing that remains unannounced is the production volume. All previous special editions came out in 50 units or fewer. The second generation is scheduled to leave the production lines in December, and the third one has not been announced yet.
Like the limited editions before it, the newcomer celebrates the victory of Ford over Ferrari at an iconic Le Mans race that took place more than 55 years ago now. Back in the era, Ford was able to conquer the entire pedestal thanks to the original GT40 II model. The latest GT spin-off pays homage to the Holman & Moody racing duo that scored third in the endurance race.
