The seller of this Ford GT claims it is one out of only two examples finished in Speed Yellow, making it the rarest of its kind worldwide. The auction closes in a few days, and the bidding is already at $452,000 USD.
Ford pieced together slightly more than 4,000 GT units in 2004-2006. This particular car is in pristine condition with 25 km (16 miles) on the odo to show for being 16 years old. Aside from its exotic yellow hue, the coupe boasts red brake calipers, BBS forged wheels, and a black cabin.
A 5.4-liter supercharged V8 drives the wheels with 558 PS (550 hp / 410 kW) and 678 Nm (500 lb-ft) of torque through a six-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential.
The model was issued in time for the company’s 100th anniversary and was inspired by the legendary Ford GT40 from the late 1960s.
The seller points out that the car was kept in a climate-controlled environment, regularly maintained and checked for engine issues. There are intact OEM stickers on the windows and protective film in the cabin.
Judging by the photos of the documents coming with the car, its original owner handed over $161,595 for it. This could mean the price had already risen to almost three times the original, and could rise even further.
