What appears to be the world’s best-preserved 2006 Ford GT is looking for a buyer in the United States. The supercar has 6.5 kilometers (4 miles) on the odo and belongs to a series of around 4,000 first-generation vehicles. The bidding has already reached $453,500 with a whole week remaining.
Ford introduced the mid-engined GT in the early 2000s as an homage to the legendary GT40. The supercar landed with a 5.4-liter aluminum-block V8 supercharged to produce 558 PS (550 hp / 410 kW) and 678 Nm (500 lb-ft) in the North American spec.
A six-speed manual transmission was entrusted with driving the rear wheels, and a limited-slip differential was available for those interested. Outfitted like this, the Ford GT snapped off the start line and hit 97 km/h (60 mph) in 3.8 seconds before maxing out at 330 km/h (205 mph).
The example on sale was optioned with every single option on the list, including 19-inch BBS wheels at the front axle, their 20-inch counterparts at the back, grey Brembo calipers and a McIntosh audio system. The original owner handed over $166,945 for it.
Until now, the car has been used exclusively as a show exhibit. Its current owner and seller bought it two years ago and has never driven it, either.
