A latest-generation 2022 Ford GT Carbon Series with 20 km (12 miles) on the odometer is headed to the auction expected to bring home between €750,000 and €1,000,000.
It is believed that only between 50 and 67 Carbon Series vehicles has rolled off the assembly line (there are contradicting reports as to the production quantity). Compared to the standard GT racecar, the carbon-bodied coupe weighs less and rides on 20-inch carbon-fiber wheels mounted on titanium lug nuts. The hood cover is also featherweight, and the entire exhaust system is made from titanium alloy. These extra modifications let the car weigh 18 kilos (40 pounds) less than standard.
This particular coupe is a post-facelift example, meaning it gets to enjoy a more powerful engine. Ford had delivered the earlier GT racers with a 3.5-liter V6 turbocharged to 656 PS (647 hp / 482 kW) until 2020, when the company bumped the output to 669 PS (660 hp / 492 kW). As a result, the car zaps 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in three seconds flat and can reach 350 km/h (217 mph).
