Rare Ford GT40 morphs into an 800-PS, AWD supercar on battery power

UK-based car tuner Everrati has unveiled its latest conversion, an iconic Ford GT40 retrofitted with dual electric motors and an all-wheel drive system, something the original never had.

The power maxes out at 800 PS (789 hp / 588 kW), enabling the car to sprint from standstill to 100 km/h (62 mph) in less than four seconds. Special equipment on board imitates ICE engine sounds to let pedestrians be aware of the approaching vehicle.

A 46-kWh traction battery runs dry after just 200 km (124 miles) of driving, making this GT40 a good choice for short trips and track days – and little else. Owners are advised to use a trailer to deliver it to the track.

Elsewhere, the restomod runs on a stainless-steel space-frame construction and takes advantage of rotor brakes, as well as per-wheel suspension. Bilstein shocks come standard, but you can order adjustable Öhlins shocks for a premium.

The steering wheel can be placed on the left or right side. Everrati trims the seats with black leather and silver rivets. Air conditioning is already included, while a safety cage is a paid option. The options list goes on to mention a plethora of modern amenities, such as a parking assist.

Prices are only disclosed to interested buyers.
