Next Ford Kuga spy photos reveal a heavily modified vehicle

Looks like Ford is wrapping up field tests of its next-generation Kuga SUV before the car’s official debut at the New York show in spring this year. Based on the recently made spy photos, the compact car will sport quite a different design compared to its current version.

More specifically, the new Kuga looks much like the current-gen Focus. It sports a revised radiator grille, reshaped LED headlights and horizontal foglights.

Another notable difference comes in the form of sportier sculpted sides. A new shoulder line (including windows, doors, and the roof) and completely redesigned rear lights contribute to the overall sporty feeling.

Industry pros say the interior of the car will likely be refreshed as well, since its current implementation is often being criticized for cheap trimming and insufficient space. The next Kuga will also likely harbor a new infotainment system with a vertical display.

In an earlier announcement, it has been revealed that the 2020 Ford Kuga would ship with a 1.5-liter, turbocharged 3-cylinder gasoline engine, a stronger 2.0-liter turbo and a new diesel engine available in several power modes. Regardless of your choice, the car will ship with a 9-speed automatic transmission.

Sales will begin before the end of 2019.
