Mustang Mach-E racer debuts with 7 motors, Drift Mode and more

Ford Performance has teamed up with RTR Vehicles to create the Mustang Mach-E 1400, an all-electric racecar that will enter NASCAR racing and drift racing events later in the year.

The track-only edition looks nothing like the “civilian” Mach-E, sporting as many as seven motors (four on the rear axle, three on the front axle), a nickel-magnesium-cobalt traction battery rated at 56.8 kilowatt-hours, and lightweight plastic bodywork. The powertrain churns out 1,400 horsepower (1,044 kilowatts) to the wheels.

The enormous rear wing mounted on the crossover SUV provides it with a metric ton (2,200 lbs) of downforce when moving at 257 km/h (160 mph). Features also include mechanical brakes, an adjustable anti-skid system, and a regenerative braking system.
