Ford explains the three Mustang Mach E drive modes

Ford has announced three drive modes for its newest battery-powered crossover, the Mustang Mach E. These are named Whisper, Active and Untamed.

The car goes in Active mode by default, but don’t be misled by the sporty title: the limp throttle response and sluggish acceleration are optimal for active power saving, not driving.

The Whisper mode engages soft ambient lighting, clamps down on the max audio volume and imposes strict stabilization system rules to simplify driving as much as possible.

Finally, the Untamed mode is the most driver-friendly of the three. Once activated, it makes the car handle better at higher speeds and delivers plenty of thrust as soon as you press down the pedal. The dashboard lights up in orange instead of the usual turquoise, and the audio system lets you crank the volume up to the max.

All three modes support active regenerative braking, but you will need to activate the corresponding setting manually.
