Mustang Mach-E hits production in China

Shortly after Mexico, the Changan-Ford factory in China has begun assembling the nature-friendly Mustang Mach-E SUV series.

Chinese media are reporting that the car will be available in four powertrain versions:

1)    269 PS (265 hp / 198 kW) and either 430 or 450 Nm (317–332 lb-ft);
2)    294 PS (290 hp / 216 kW) and 430 Nm (317 lb-ft);
3)    351 PS (346 hp / 258 kW) and 580 Nm (428 lb-ft);
4)    487 PS (480 hp / 358 kW) and either 813 or 860 Nm (600–634 lb-ft).

The fourth option is said to be reserved for the top spec, the GT Performance Edition.

The cabin shown is GT standard, which is scheduled to ship in the United Stated in the second half of the year. The digital dashboard measures 10.2 inches across and the infotainment display 15.5 inches across. Future updates will all be delivered over-the-air.

Customers in China will get their Mach-E with two battery sizes to choose from, specifically 68 and 88 kilowatt-hours. The NEDC-rated driving range is being reported as “more than 600 kilometers” (373 miles), but the manufacturer does not specify which battery this number refers to.
