Ford to open Mustang Mach-E GT pre-order books on April 26

Following the debut of the regular Ford Mustang Mach-E in 2019 and the announcement of a top GT spec last year, the time has finally come for the latter to start shipping. The company will accept pre-orders starting on Monday, April 26, 2021.

The news is not official, but numerous screenshots of e-mails sent to Mach-E forum members by their nearest dealerships seem to confirm it quite clearly. The starting price of U.S. $60,500 also looks realistic enough.

The base crossover SUV has 480 PS (473 hp / 353 kW) and 813 Nm (600 lb-ft) of torque, and drives all four wheels. Performance Edition raises the torque to 860 Nm (634 lb-ft), reducing the 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) sprint time to 3.5 seconds.

The standard spec runs 402 kilometers (250 miles) on a full charge. California Route 1 spec has more autonomy with 490 km (305 miles), and the upcoming GT Performance Edition is said to sacrifice range for power with 378 km (235 miles).
