The compact-sized Ford Maverick pickup will go on sale this autumn, but buyers will inevitably face limited availability of its certain versions, the company warns.
For instance, only 35% of the trucks scheduled for production in August, September and October will be part-electric. Moving forward, Ford hopes to be able to raise their share in production to 40%, but even so, finding a Maverick Hybrid in a dealership might prove challenging.
With a sub-$20,000 launch price and around 80,000 pre-orders already collected, the truck is slated to become one of the most affordable Fords on the market of today and one of the cheapest hybrids worldwide. In its most basic form, it comes equipped with a 2.5-liter gasoline engine and an electric motor, but you can opt for an EcoBoost 2.0.
