Here’s a hot rod that took $0.2M+ to build

An exotic car seller in Missouri, USA has this 1929 Ford Model A hot rod conversion on sale. The vintage car was modified by Old Dog Street Rods until very few original parts remained, and is now on sale for a fraction of the cost.

Specifically, the owner – the manager of the tuning workshop – claims he invested over $200,000 USD in the project, but will part with the result for mere $57,500. The vehicle is reportedly in great condition with only around 2,800 km (1,740 miles) under its belt since the restoration.

The chassis has been reworked and now sports custom per-wheel suspension at the front and a new Ford axle in the back. Chromed wheels come wrapped low profile tires and measure 17 inches front and 18 rear.

A 5.7-liter Chevrolet V8 under the hood makes use of a new starter, exhaust system, cylinder heads with electronic ignition, and a performance cooling system.

Compared to the original Ford Model A, this one has a distinctly different front end with a new radiator grille, lighting and engine bay design. The truck bed in the back comes lined with wood, and the paint all around is UV-protected.

A look inside reveals a removable steering wheel, a custom dashboard and new trim all around.
