This 1929MY, still-running Ford can be yours for a token sum

A Ford Model A assembled in the distant year 1929 is on auction in the USA right now with the bidding at a low $6,000 and little time remaining. Despite being nearly a century old, it is in good condition and still drivable.

The background of the car is lost to time. The seller claims that its body was resprayed in its original dark green shade in the 1980s, and the cabin was trimmed with green velour to match the exterior.

Other than that, the collector’s rarity has chrome bits all around and rides on multi-spoke wheels shod in convincing replicas of Garfield whitewall tires. It also sports a luggage rack at the rear end with a wooden coffer for your belongings.

Power is sourced from a 3.3-liter inline engine that used to churn out 50 horsepower and 174 Nm (128 lb-ft) of torque in its glory days. A three-speed manual transmission carries the torque to the wheels.

The seller claims he bought the car earlier this year, ending a 15-year-long period of it standing idle in a garage. Once purchased, it had all of its liquids and some engine components replaced. Even though it can be driven as is, the Model A needs additional care before it can be driven on the road – among other things, its dash gauges and windshield wiper drive no longer function.
