New Ford Mondeo ST-Line is all show, no extra go

The ST-Line is the latest addition to the Ford Mondeo lineup, and it bets on sporty looks to make you want to buy it.

Exterior highlights include both bumpers, black side accents, a rear spoiler, 19-inch wheels and red brake calipers. In turn, the cabin makes use of special trimming materials and sports an ST-Line logo on the dashboard. A single-pane panoramic roof is replaced with dual glass sections.

Perhaps most importantly, though, the car now has a single display spanning nearly the entire dash length. It incorporates a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster and a humongous 27-inch multimedia screen. The system recognizes faces and gestures.

Power comes from the old 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo rated at 238 PS (235 hp / 175 kW).

The car is 4,935 mm long, 1,875 mm wide and 1,500 mm tall with 2,945 mm between the axles (inches: 192.8 x 73.3 x 58.6 x 115). The Ford Evos cross-liftback and the Lincoln Zephyr utilize the same platform.
