Vaughn Gittin Jr. beats the entire North Loop in a single drift

The North Loop of Nürburgring is where many professional racers compete for the best lap time. Renowned drift star Vaughn Gittin Jr., though, is another story altogether. He set off to drive the entire track in a single drift maneuver, causing clouds of white smoke to erupt from under the tires.

To set an unusual record, Vaughn Gittin Jr. used his trusty Ford Mustang RTR, whose 5.0L V8 supercharged engine had been previously boosted to 900 hp (671 kW) by Ford Performance.

Watch the video for one of the craziest drift stunts of all time. If you’d rather like a summary, the drive was a complete success. The formidable track was beaten at high-speed, continuous drift.

The new record is likely to remain in place for a while, since drift maneuvers are strictly forbidden at the Nürburgring’s North Loop. An exception was apparently made for the American racer alone.
