Ford has produced an experimental car series, called the Mustang Boss 429, in 1969 – 1970. Nicknamed “The Boss 9”, the car came equipped with a humongous 7.0-liter V8 engine that could hardly fit under the hood. It was so large that the manufacturer had to ditch climate control and several other useful features.
Factory-rated at 375 hp (280 kW), the engine was actually capable of exceeding 500 hp (375 kW). No wonder many people still remember the car with a sort of nostalgia.
It is for these people that Classic Restorations has built a replica – and not just some replica, either! The new car packs an even more ludicrous 8.4-liter V8 engine rated at 827 hp (617 kW) alongside a Centerforce Clutches transmission.
Other notable features include four-link rear suspension, heavy-duty Wilwood brakes, LED lights, forged wheels etc.
Classic Restorations offers the reborn Ford Mustang Boss 429 in two variants: original body and Dynacorn custom body (the latter is more affordable). Prices start at U.S. $209,000.
