Exactly 50 years ago, in the remote year 1968, a criminal drama called “Bullitt” came out starring Steve McQueen as Lieutenant Frank Bullitt. Among other things, the iconic movie had a spectacular car chase scene between the 1968 Ford Mustang Fastback and the Dodge Charger R/T issued in the same year. To honor the anniversary, tuner ABBES Design came out with a retro-inspired styling package for the 2018 Ford Mustang GT.
The muscle car gained two front spoilers, a front grille garnish, redesigned air intakes, elegant side skirts, and wheel arch extenders (optional). Moving on to the rear, you can install a faux diffuser and a rear spoiler here, the latter available in several different designs. The company will also be releasing a rear wing called the FM-05-BIG WING sometime soon, so stay tuned if you want that one as well.
Aside from the kit, ABBES Design suggests fitting the car with 20-inch Schmidt forged wheels and drop the suspension slightly.
Finally yet importantly, the firm offers a chip tuning to boost the engine of the car from its stock 450 hp (336 kW) and 529 Nm (390 lbft) of torque to 500 hp (373 kW) and 582 Nm (429 lbft). There is no mention of updated standard sprint times, but the tuner claims that the car handles “dramatically better” with the boost applied.
