Have you seen this 2003 Mustang roadster?

The fourth generation of the Ford Mustang may not have been the best, but it still had plenty of charm, and was quite popular among tuners. In 2003, Roush Performance tackled 13 Mustangs in a strictly limited makeover called the Boyd Coddington California Roadster. All 13 vehicles received a removable soft top and a boosted supercharged engine.

The particular Mustang you can see here sports a flashy red/black paint with the upper body predominantly black and the lower red. It also has custom bumpers, a Cobra-style hood, 18-inch Roush wheels wrapped in Hankook Ventus tires, and a rear wing that looks pretty big for 2003.

Mechanical changes are also numerous. Roush Performance fitted the vehicle with Brembo performance brakes, lowering springs, a front sway bar, rear lower control arms, and a snubber.

The inner space sports the same red/black trim with leather-draped seats, a tachometer adorned with the signature of the famous hot rod builder Boyd Coddington, a gear stick with reduced travel, and a retro CD changer for six DCs.

The car had its 4.6-liter V8 pushed to 379 hp (283 kW) and 515 Nm (380 lbft) of torque. This became possible owing to a new supercharger, intercooler, aluminum flywheel, and an X-pipe exhaust system. The tuner also fiddled with the fuel system.

This Mustang cost U.S. $29,900 when it came out, with the Roush tuning adding $22,637 on top of that.
