To celebrate the 55th birthday of its iconic muscle car, the Mustang, Ford has come up with a limited series called ‘Mustang55’. Let us glance over the highlights.
The exterior has changed quite dramatically. There are stripes running down the hood and the lower body, the roof is painted black (fastbacks only), and the wheels are 19 inches large with a new glossy finish.
Other notable features include blacked-out logos and emblems, a rear spoiler (available separately), an original gear shifter, a Bang & Olufsen audio system, assorted carbon trim elements, and a WLAN hotspot capable of maintaining up to 10 simultaneous connections.
In Europe, the Ford Mustang55 will become available next month. The series will come powered by a 5.0-liter V8 engine rated at 450 hp (336 kW) by default, but you may still opt for a 2.3-liter EcoBoost unit instead. If you do, you will get a special trim package similar to that of the Shelby GT350 and GT500, as well as an Active Valve Performance exhaust system.
In Great Britain, prices will start from £37,685. Customers will be able to choose between hard top and retractable soft top variants of the Mustang55.
