Ford has released a video showing winter tests of its upcoming all-electric crossover SUV.
The manufacturer claims the goal of the video is to show that electric cars don’t have to be afraid of cold weather conditions. According to surveys, only 19% of all Americans trust their EVs to take them to the destination when the weather is bad. Another 18% believe battery cars might be faster than traditional cars, but not necessarily more reliable. Only 28% are positive that their EVs will endure extreme weather conditions no matter what.
To dispel the myths surrounding the still young tech, Ford has posted a video where a Mustang-like SUV does stunts in the snow, drifts on ice and climbs snowy mounds with apparent ease.
The location at which the footage was filmed remains unknown, and there is a thick test mule camo covering the car. Ford says the premiere will occur in 2020. This particular e-SUV will be followed by a couple more, and an electric version of the Ford F-150 pickup truck is also likely to emerge later on.
