Patrick Dempsey’s 55-year-old Ford Mustang goes up on sale

This Ford Mustang Fastback SV rolled off the lines back in 1965 and received a full makeover after famous actor and racing driver Patrick Dempsey bought it around a decade ago. The $300,000 ride is currently up for grabs for those who can afford it.

Panoz Auto Development and JRD worked together to restore and refresh the vintage muscle car, including swapping it to a new engine. The new 4.6-liter V8 stems from a fifth-gen Mustang S197 and churns out 420 hp (313 kW). The suspension and brakes are also borrowed from the S197, and Tremec T-56 six-speed manual fills in the role of transmission.

Aside from the above, the car boasts fender flares, LED lighting all around and 17-inch Torq Thrust-style wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich G-Force tires. The cabin features leather-trimmed surfaces, aluminum pedal pads, a central lock, an HVAC, and power windows. Driver aids are also extensive and include rack-and-pinion steering, traction control and ABS.

By the way, the $300,000 mentioned above is the approximate cost associated with the restoration, not the asking price for the car itself.
