It’s no secret that the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat is just about the craziest dragster on the market with hypercar-like acceleration chops. But will it be able to hold its own against this custom Ford Mustang GT dialed up to 11 and probably beyond?
According to the race masters, both cars were measured on the dyno prior to the race. The Dodge hit the stand with around 800 hp (600 kW), which translates to 900+hp (670+ kW) at the crank. The Ford, however, hit it with over 1,000 hp (750 kW), which means it has been tuned to over 1,150 hp (860+ kW) at the crank.
The most intriguing part is that this particular Mustang GT is an S197, which means that it can do 300 hp (224 kW) at most without upgrades. It isn’t even a Shelby. Just how it became more than three times as powerful remains a mystery to us.
