Ford is launching the production of an all-new 6.8-liter engine model in Windsor, Canada. Details are scarce at the moment, but it looks like new trim versions of the Mustang and the F-150 will be using it.
In all likelihood, the mill has eight cylinders, although the U.S. carmaker used to build V10 units with the same displacement volume in the past. It may or may not feature forced induction: according to rumors, it is going to be a naturally aspirated cam-in-block engine not unlike the 7.3-liter Godzilla V8.
In earlier news, Ford discontinued the GT350 and GT350R, its strongest naturally aspirated Mustang duo. The performance lineup now only includes the Mach 1 – which is a limited series – and the GT500, which draws its power from a 5.2-liter supercharged V8 (see video).
