This Shelby GT500 Eleanor replica is not cheap, but it is officially sanctioned

Around a month ago, we reported about a Ford Mustang restomod stylized to resemble the famous Eleanor coupe from ‘Gone in 60 Seconds’. That one was kind of a bootleg copy, whereas this one is licensed and reportedly made to a higher standard. The question is, would you pay the asking price?

Fusion Motor Company only accepts model year 1967 and 1968 Mustang cars for conversion. The donor gets stripped down to the last screw, thoroughly sandblasted, reassembled body and kit, painted, and finally fitted with the necessary electrics.

The restomod draws its power from a 7.0-liter Roush V8 with ‘Eleanor’ engraved on its valve covers, as well as a massive radiator. The standard output is 568 PS (560 hp / 418 kW) and 732 Nm (540 lb-ft) of torque, but you can specify a more powerful version with 761 PS (750 hp / 560 kW). Both variants rely on a six-speed manual transmission to drive the rear axle.

Other notable upgrades include Detroit Speed suspension for better handling and Wilwood brakes for proper deceleration. A bespoke exhaust system designed in the house will ensure a fitting soundtrack along with emission clearance.

Owning a restomod like this is a matter of U.S. $249,000 before all options. Ticking all the boxes may push the grand total over $300,000.
