Each Batmobile replica is unique in its own way, and there are plenty out there. Mike Fernie’s functional copy uses 1965 Ford Mustang underpinnings, making it stand out from the largely Chevy Impala-based crowd.
The only door there is has to be pushed aside to get into the cabin, evoking associations with fighter jets. The interior is very utilitarian and provides everything you would expect to see in a car.
According to the original comic, the Batmobile used a jet turbine engine rated at ten thousand horsepower. The replica is still no slouch, though, thanks to a 5.7-liter Chevrolet V8 pumping out 380 PS (375 hp / 279 kW). Don’t be fooled by the fake dual turbos: the mill is naturally aspirated.
