Mecum Auctions invites everyone interested to bid for this 15-year-old Saleen S281SC convertible with a Mustang core, under 2,000 km on the clock, a new supercharger, and custom bodywork.
According to Saleen, the production was capped at 69 units, out of which only 29 were made to this exact specification. The example on sale wears Redfire paint along with an original radiator grille, bumpers, splitter, and hood. The same applies to the sides and the rear, which boasts a diffuser and an exhaust system reminiscent of the 2000s-era Corvette exhausts.
Bespoke chrome wheels fill out the arches nicely thanks to a lowered stance. The interior trim makes use of premium leather, and there are Saleen badges on the steering wheel, the dashboard and the seats. Much of the rest stays stock Mustang.
Powering the ride is a 4.6-liter V8 supercharged to 550 PS (542 hp / 404 kW) and 678 Nm (500 lb-ft) of torque thanks to a Saleen Series VI TwinScrew kit.
There is no official starting price, but the Saleen S281SC cost no less than $86,000 new, so you may derive your estimations from there.
