55-year-old Ford Mustang makes a surprisingly viable truck

Properly restored classics are all the rage these days, but you will be hard pressed to build a Mustang restomod that would stand out from the crowd. Going for the ute body style would be one way to do it, though.

The original muscle car was produced in 1966 and received a red paintjob with white accents. Its original owner had a hood scoop installed for a reason described below, ditched the signature triple taillights for double ones, and added a fully functional cargo bed in the back. The tailgate and the partition wall could use some extra work, but the overall level of execution seems quite high.

Things stay stock inside the cabin, but not under the hood. A new 4.7-liter V8 mated to a three-range A/T drives the rear wheels from there. The power rating is not mentioned, but if we assume the HiPo spec, it should be close to 275 PS (271 hp / 202 kW) and 423 Nm (312 lb-ft) of torque.

The five-digit mileage counter on the dashboard resets every 100,000 miles, so the mileage is unknown. However, the car went through a maintenance not long ago and is street-legal.
