Video: Ken Block’s 14-year-old daughter vs. 4,055-PS ‘Vette racer

As you have probably heard, Ken Block has signed a contract with Audi and will not be driving any of his numerous tuned Fords anytime soon. Luckily for everyone, the limitation does not extend to his Daughter Lia, 14, who apparently knows her way around a stick-shift supercar and doesn’t mind a bit of fun on the track.

Her ride of choice is the famed Hoonicorn, a Ford Mustang modified to squeeze up to 1,420 PS (1,400 hp / 1,044 kW) out of its twin-turbo V8. A six-speed manual transmission drives both axles.

Going up against it is a sixth-gen Chevy Corvette rocking an NHRA racing-only tune on its humongous 8.6-liter Hemi V8 engine supercharged to deliver around 4,055 PS (4,000 hp / 2,983 kW) to the rear wheels. It may seem like too much for the Hoonicorn to handle, but do note that it is RWD and designed to be driven on prepped tracks exclusively, whereas the runway picked by Hoonigan wasn’t prepped.

The first race sees Lia Block get off the line a bit early, but managing a convincing victory all the same. Next time around, the two cars start pretty much simultaneously and the ‘Stang manages to keep up with the ‘Vette for most of the track, only barely yielding in the end.

However, after the first two runs over 500 feet (152 meters), another run followed over 1,000 ft. (304 m) and was easily the most exciting to watch. See for yourself!
