This 1st-gen Mustang Speedster restomod could be yours on BaT

The first generation of the Ford Mustang is a rare sight these days – most muscle cars from those days have retired by now, and while restomods are a thing, they remain out of reach for most people. This Speedster being auctioned off at Bring a Trailer could be your ticket into the early ‘Stang owners’ club.

The car only has a minimal windshield and a-pillars, and has nowhere to install the roof on. The body wears a custom aero kit: notice the hood and trunk styled after earlier Shelby models, the ducktail spoiler in the back and the side air vents. The exhaust pipes exit at both sides of the rear bumper. 17-inch alloy wheels sport shuriken-like hubcaps and wear Nexan/Zeta rubber.

A look inside reveals bucket seats wrapped in black vinyl, as well as a stainless-steel dashboard. A modern audio system and a three-spoke steering wheel are also present.

Power for the build comes from a 5.0-liter Cobra mill mated to a three-speed automatic gearbox driving the rear wheels. Power numbers are left out.
