The latest-gen Ford Mustang is on its way to becoming yet another entry in a history book, but it will not be going anywhere as long as Roush has its say. The tuning company has unleashed a special version of the muscle car on the streets: called the called P-51B, it should soon celebrate its official debut.
How do we know it is the Mustang Roush P-51В? Well, the outlines of the P-51, an old U.S. fighter jet, on the front fender are a dead giveaway, for one. Add to this new side sills, a front spoiler, fender vents and extended wheel arches – and you should get the picture. Note also the small triangular trim pieces behind the side windows – those could actually be air intakes.
Knowing Roush, there is no way the new Mustang makes do with only stylistic modifications – a powertrain upgrade is definitely coming, too.
In the meantime, Ford is getting the seventh-gen Mustang ready to rumble (see video). The premiere is scheduled on September 14, 2022.
