While most of the world was anxiously expecting the street-legal Ford Mustang to debut, the company was busy developing a slew of track-friendly modifications of it suited to participate in all major worldwide racing events.
The list begins with the Dark Horse S and Dark Horse R. Both muscle cars weigh less than stock and come equipped with a roll cage, a quick-release steering wheel and bucket seats. The R pulls forward with its Ford Performance wheels, extra body reinforcements and a higher-end fuel system.
Inside, the dashboard sports a number of special switches and indicators, as well as a telematic system and a speed limiter. Suspension and brakes are also upgraded from stock, and the rear wing at the back is flexibly adjustable.
The other four versions comply with one of the following regulations: GT3, GT4, NASCAR, and Australia Championship. Their detailed specifications remain yet to be revealed.
