A 1965 Ford Mustang retrofitted with GT350 parts and boosted to 500 horsepower is up for auction in the USA with the current top bid at $43,210.
The restoration began three years ago. The team significantly extended the front and the rear ends of the classic car using 2020 Mustang GT350 subframes. It also borrowed the Brembo brakes and the rear suspension from the same model, while the front suspension was overhauled using new aftermarket parts.
The 5.0-liter Coyote V8 under the hood received a bump from its original 466 PS (460 hp / 343 kW) to 507 PS (500 hp / 373 kW). A ten-speed automatic transmission sends the torque to the rear axle. Interior highlights include a roll cage and Status bucket seats featuring carbon-fiber frames and multi-point safety harnesses.
