Hennessey ramps up Mustang power output by 70%

Hennessey has managed to upgrade the stock 5.0-liter Coyote V8 powering the limited-run Ford Mustang Dark Horse by a cool 70 percent, ending up with 860 PS (838 hp / 625 kW) and 880 Nm (650 lb-ft) of torque.

The Dark Horse is the American manufacturer’s most track-oriented Mustang of all, hitting the wheels with 507 PS (500 hp / 373 kW) and 566 Nm (417 lb-ft) from a naturally aspirated engine.

The tuner adds a custom supercharger setup and replaces the fuel system, the intake and the ECU software. The transmission stays untouched, though – you can still choose between Tremec 6MT and Ford’s own 10AT.

Elsewhere, the tuned muscle car has forged wheels and a special body kit with carbon-fiber parts. The while comes with a warranty valid for 3 years or 58,000 km (36,000 miles).
