Ford Mustang to produce 60 restomods priced from $0.3M

Ford is getting ready to celebrate the 60th birthday of its iconic Mustang coming up in 2024 with a planned series of 60 restored and modernized muscle cars from 1965–1970. Buyers will be able to choose their favorite body style and engine; prices start from an eye-watering $299,995.

The work will be performed by Brand New Muscle Car, a company based in Oklahoma. You will be able to choose between coupe and convertible body style and specify any production year from 1965 through 1970, but the soft top will set you back an additional $10,000 before any other options.

A choice between two V8s is provided in the base spec. One is a 5.0-liter Coyote mill rated at 441 PS (435 hp / 324 kW) and the other one is a 7.3-liter Godzilla unit with 436 PS (430 hp / 321 kW) at the output end. Forking over another $50,000 will get you a twin-turbo mill with 1,014 PS (1,000 hp / 746 kW), and parting with $75,000 will get you an all-electric Tesla powertrain instead. For all petrol engines, you are free to choose between five-speed manual, six-speed manual, and automatic.

Customers can also express their wishes regarding suspension settings, exterior color, wheel design and interior trim. Brand New Muscle Car will even process orders for right-hand-drive Mustangs. An important thing to note is that the end result will not be a painstaking copy of the original, but a modern interpretation of it – check out the 3D sketches in the gallery, and you should see that the proportions are off.
