Classic Recreations, a company specializing in building expensive and exclusive restomods (see video), has shed some light on its next big project. Titled the Shelby GT500CR Centennial, it is a supercar dedicated to the recent 100th anniversary of the legendary automotive engineer Carroll Shelby. Only 10 such vehicles will be made and sold starting from a cool 625,000 USD.

Every car will be getting an all-carbon body and a 5.0-liter Coyote V8 boosted to 811 PS (800 hp / 598 kW). A six-speed manual transmission from Tremec will carry the momentum to the wheels, taking the restomod from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) in under 3.5 seconds.

Aside from sheer power, the Centennial brings its exceptionally low weight to the track. Tipping the scales at 1,450 kilograms (under 3,200 lbs), it should be a joy to drive both on the road and the track. Independent suspension with height-adjustable coilovers at both axles and six-piston Wilwood calipers should further improve handling.

Classic Recreations adorns every example with a special livery sporting colorful stripes running from the front to the rear end. Due to the sheer volume of manual work involved, a single car like this takes two months to finish.

On an interesting side note, the Shelby dedication isn’t the only one. The limited series is also supposed to celebrate 100 years since the establishment of the American Heart Association (AHA). Classic Recreations says it will donate it $100,000 from every vehicle sold.
