Ford has launched a new high-end supercharger kit for the 5.0-liter naturally aspirated V8 Mustang lineup. It adds more than 300 horsepower to the output and costs $9,995.
In the U.S. spec, the Mustang GT outputs 486 hp (362 kW). Opting for the extreme Dark Horse version bumps it up to 500 hp (373 kW). With the new charger kit installed, both can produce as much as 810 hp (604 kW).
The package includes a superior Whipple supercharger specifically designed to work with the Coyote V8, different spark plugs, custom injectors and updated ECU software.
The package is provided by Ford Performance. For its own part, Whipple is offering a very similar supercharger upgrade for the ‘Stang. It even has a superior alternative called Stage II, which ramps up the output further to around 860 hp (641 kW).
