Ford Motors has officially authorized the car tuning house Classic Recreations to re-issue several classical car models that used to be popular in the U.S.A. in the 70s. Even though all we have right now are some early design sketches, the first vehicle should premiere at the famous SEMA tuning show in November.
A spokesman for Classic Recreations said that Ford Mustang Boss 302, Boss 429, and Mach will all get their second life in this project. All vehicles will either retain their original body design or get a more modern re-imagination thereof. He stressed that the latter will only be done under Ford’s own creative direction.
The cars will be built on the currently produced chassis, but they will also take advantage from some retro body parts and units. Last but not least, every Ford Mustang in the series will be built against a custom order.
Each reincarnated Ford Mustang will either ship with an old-school 7.0-liter, naturally-aspirated V8 engine, or a more up-to-date 6.0-liter V8. Those who would rather prefer a modern turbocharged EcoBoost engine may opt for that one as well.
