A tuning company by the name of Revology has introduced the Boss 429, a modern take on the legendary first-generation Ford Mustang billed as the perfect fusion of retro aesthetics and a modern driving experience. It may look like a 1969 ‘Stang on the outside, but everything down to the chassis is completely new.
In developing the chassis, the company aimed at making the handling feel as modern as possible. To that end, they implemented hard aluminum subframes, dual-wishbone suspension at the front end and a three-link setup in the back. Spot and seam welding techniques were used alongside a special heat-cured adhesive compound to ensure that the result feels much stiffer on the road than the original ever did.
In turn, the interior was reimagined in a luxurious way with fine leather covering the seats, the door panels, the steering wheel, the dashboard and the transmission tunnel. Wood accents were introduced to liven up the otherwise sterile black and white trim.
Last but not least, a new 5.0-liter Coyote V8 made it under the hood along with a modern supercharger. It pumps out 720 PS (710 hp / 530 kW) and drives the rear wheels via a six-speed manual transmission, although more practically minded buyers can opt for a ten-speed automatic. For a bit of perspective, the original ’69 Mustang extracted around 380 PS (375 hp / 275 kW) out of its impressive 7.0 liters (429 cubic inches) of displacement, so this is a massive upgrade in any case.
Revology didn’t reveal how many units it planned to build in total, but its schedule for 2026 mentions 50 production slots – about a half of them full at the moment of writing. Prices start from U.S. $395,000 before options, so you may always default to a Ferrari if you can’t get the Boss 429 for some reason.
