It has been a year and a half since Ford unveiled its updated Mustang GT supercar, and now we can finally grab an upgrade package for it. This time around, Shelby offers both exterior changes and an engine performance boost.
The Shelby Super Snake upgrade package includes a freshly designed aerodynamic body kit, modified bumpers, a boot lid-mounted rear wing and a front splitter. There are also new door sills, broader wheel arches, a bulging hood cover with two nostril-like air intakes, and a refreshed radiator grille.
Depending on your engine series, the performance boost may amount to either 40 or 50 hp (30 or 37 kW), bringing the total to 720 or 810 hp (537 or 604 kW). Necessary replacements include the radiator and engine cooling circuit, the driveshaft and the supercharger.
The vehicle still accelerates to 100 km/h (62 mph) in the same 3.5 seconds, but Shelby offers installation of heavy-duty Brembo brakes for better deceleration performance.
Aside from the things mentioned above, the kit comes with large-diameter wheels clad in sport tires, new shock absorbers and anti-roll bars, an exhaust system with an impressively deep “voice”, and reconfigured suspension.
